Owner, Body Sage at the Rusty Parrot, Jackson, Wyoming
Heidi started her career in health and wellness in San Francisco in 1989 as a yoga teacher and massage therapist. Her journey to becoming a Spa Superhero was fast tracked when she was inspired to buy a one-way ticket to Bali. Over the next 18 months she crewed a yacht through the Indonesian archipelago, completed a yoga teacher certification in India, experienced her first 10-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat in Nepal and studied traditional Thai massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Upon returning to her home in Wyoming, the seed for the Body Sage Spa was planted in 1991 when Heidi began practicing massage in her family’s luxury 30-room, AAA Four Diamond rated luxury hotel, the Rusty Parrot Lodge, which caters to the traveler – not the tourist. The pieces fell into place as Jackson had no spa at that time, making Harrison somewhat of a pioneer in the Spa Industry in Wyoming. She recognized the benefits that therapeutic spa treatments provide athletes and weekend warriors and decided it was a “must do.”
In recent years, Heidi began harvesting herbs and flowers from her organic, high-altitude garden for use in spa treatments. While exploring alpine forests and meadows, she also wild-crafts herbs to use in one of a kind treatments in her spa.
From day one, the Body Sage Spa has used the most natural, organic products possible accurately matching the values of its Superhero founder.
