We invited Suzanne to share what makes One Love Organics so uniquely aligned with our values—and how in-house manufacturing, uncompromising quality, and ethical craftsmanship set this Discovery apart in a world of mass-produced beauty.
Beauty Heroes: What inspired you to take on developing your own ECOCERT Lab? Why not just work with an existing lab? When you started, did you know that you were going to manufacture your own products, or did the process inspire you to do just do it yourself?
Suzanne: We did try working with existing labs. But after spending a couple of years perfecting our initial formulas—ones that were already delivering results for me, my family, and friends—the first labs we approached wanted to substitute key ingredients or cut costs. With a middleman, you’re forced to streamline and compromise. I had never imagined I’d manufacture my own products, but when the process pushed me to preserve what worked, I took the road less traveled and built our own ECOCERT® licensed manufacturing facility right in our hometown—the Golden Isles of Georgia. It wasn’t easy, and it’s definitely not for everyone.
Beauty Heroes: What are a few of the attributes that are apparent in One Love Organics products that can only be attained by making your products in-house?
Suzanne: In-house production gives us complete oversight. It means precision in every formula—where innovative, plant-powered science meets rigorous quality control—delivering results only possible when every detail is crafted from start to finish. It allows us to use premium ingredients without compromise and to cold-process or minimize heat exposure whenever possible for maximum potency. It’s the little things that add up and make a noticeable difference, and this attention to detail is why we’ve thrived for over 15 years in an incredibly competitive market. I’m incredibly grateful we chose this path, because I’m truly particular about quality.
Beauty Heroes: How do you describe the difference between mass produced conventional skincare and that made by brands like One Love Organics?
Suzanne: Mass-produced skincare is generic and impersonal. Many labs churn out the same products for countless brands—tweaked stock formulas designed to keep costs low and speed up launches—so everything ends up feeling the same. I don’t like anything fast because something important gets sacrificed. At One Love Organics, every product is a curated experience. I literally spend two years perfecting each formula. If I don’t genuinely love it and believe it’s the absolute best, I simply won’t launch it. Every bottle embodies intentional care and exceptional quality.
Beauty Heroes: What is something you think most consumers don’t know about beauty manufacturing, that is not common knowledge?
Suzanne: Few realize that beauty manufacturing is as much an art as it is a science. It’s not merely about mixing ingredients—it’s about sustainable innovation, meticulous testing, and the ethical rigor behind every ingredient. Attention to detail and a dedicated team are crucial; many of our team members have been with us for over 10 years. Our process proves that true luxury can be ethical, effective, and accessible.
Beauty Heroes: When making products for our Beauty Heroes Discovery, what is the most challenging part of the process?
Suzanne: When making products for our Beauty Heroes Discovery, planning for additional large orders is one of our biggest challenges. We carefully forecast our inventory each year—projecting our needs for packaging, ingredients, boxes, and more—and our large orders are made to order. We don’t carry extra inventory because we don’t have imposed minimums from a contract manufacturer. This lean, sustainable approach significantly reduces waste, though it sometimes means we have to act fast and adjust our projections. We love it, though, and we’re excited to introduce our products to more Beauty Heroes customers. Our team genuinely lights up every time a shipment heads out the door to you!
